Nine Year Olds and Six Foot Timelines

Last week was President’s Day, so I created a project to show the kiddos all of our presidents. Be prepared to have lots of paper handy and plenty of time (speaking from experience!) For prep work, I created a PowerPoint with all of the presidents’ pictures with a number beside of each,  as well as seperate sheets with numbered boxes and lines.

The idea for the first day was simple, each student had to cut and paste the pictures in the correct numbered box so the presidents were in order. The next day, we went through each president and wrote their name and the years they were in office. They had so many questions to ask, and were able to learn many facts about each president. I’m so glad my kiddos love history, and they loved making a timeline that was taller than they were!
